Since the first day of Spring was on March 20th we decided to Celebrate the Season by having our gourmet dinner that same week. The hosts for this month were myself (Lindsey) and my partner Amanda. We wanted to bring Spring into the home by bringing in lots of flowers, lights, moss and also focus on having a light and fresh atmosphere. We brought that concept into the food, no more heavy foods, we wanted food that was light in taste and dishes that used fresh produce for the season.
The Invite
Lounge Area
We created this lounge area where we could eat our appetizers and mingle with each other. The only decorations in the lounge area were the 3 little vases with daisy's.
Table Decorations:
We used a mixture of fresh flowers and artificial flowers scattered throughout the table. We thought it would be fun to use moss as the table runner and add a tree log as the main center decoration and surround it with flowers in pots. We added hanging mason jar lanterns to create a more outdoor-type feeling and also to add a softer touch to the evening.
*some of the fresh flowers we used were daffodils, succulents, and daisies. Flowers were potted in tin pots and spray painted with chalkboard paint. We had mini chalkboards on the table with spring quotes*
